The Day I Met Frankie Muniz: A Childhood Dream Come True!

Writer: Leo Saint ThomasLeo Saint Thomas

I still can’t believe it actually happened. October 14th and 15th, 2024—mark that day, because it's the day my childhood dream became real. I met the Frankie Muniz at the Multiverse Swiss Expo in Geneva! Yep, that’s right—Frankie, aka Malcolm from Malcolm in the Middle, the show I grew up binge-watching. To say it was a fantastic day would be an understatement!

As soon as I spotted Frankie on stage, my heart started racing. I mean, this is the guy who made my childhood and made me want to be a young actor! He told some awesome behind-the-scenes stories that I had never heard before. He even answered questions about his life after the show, sharing what it was like balancing racing and acting. The speaker asked if we had questions. I was beyond nervous, but I knew I had to go for it. When I finally got to the front of the line to ask my question, all my nerves vanished. And let me tell you, it wasn’t just a quick “hello, thanks for watching” type of interaction. Frankie really took the time to answer my question.

Later on, it was signature time. I had so many questions, and to my surprise, Frankie didn’t just brush them off—he dove into them! We talked about Malcolm in the Middle, of course. Frankie was so genuine and patient, like he really cared about what I had to say. It didn’t feel like he was in a rush to move on to the next fan. Instead, he made the conversation feel real and personal. WE also took a picture and finally took part to the Meet and Greet, which was just four of us, Frankie and an interpreter.

The whole experience was mind-blowing. I walked away from that expo on cloud nine, replaying everything he said in my head. Meeting your idol can be risky, you know? There’s always that fear they won’t live up to your expectations, but Frankie Muniz? He exceeded them. The guy is just as cool and kind in real life as he seemed on screen.

Honestly, this was one of those moments you just know you’re going to remember forever. Meeting the person who shaped so many of my childhood memories and realizing how down-to-earth and awesome he still is? It was a dream come true. Best. Day. Ever.
